Music – 3
Fun and cohesive. A ‘vibe’. It is a good song in itself, although I’m uncertain as to how much I’m being affected by nostalgia. His singing is classic, and I like the piano solo with the sound effects. I like the music.
Poetry – 2
This was a hard one for me because it could go towards a two or a three. In the end I opted for a two because if someone did read this to me as a poem, I wouldn’t think it’s particularly good, but I wouldn’t dispute it being a poem. I do really enjoy the lyrics:
“But you are still a victim /
Of the accidents you leave /
As sure as I’m a victim of desire”
Change – 1
It doesn’t change. There is a piano solo, but it is very much the same as the rest of the song.
Insight – 3
I find it interesting. I like the premise, and “don’t ask me why” is an insightful comment in that context.
Good – 4
My brother and I were listening to Glass Houses the other day on the living room speaker, and when this song came on I had such a warm feeling and positive reaction, so I feel I have to give it a four.
